Welcome

I've learned that the greatest investment we can make is in people.

Throughout my life, I've discovered that success isn't measured by titles, awards, or financial achievement. It's measured by the lives we touch, the communities we strengthen, and the opportunities we create for others.

That belief wasn't learned in a classroom or a boardroom. It was shaped through hardship, second chances, and a journey that began far differently than most people would imagine.

For more than thirty years, I've had the privilege of leading organizations through growth, change, and complex challenges across the transportation, petrochemical, construction, manufacturing, and water industries. During the past twenty-five years as a safety professional, my focus has been simple: protect people, develop leaders, and help organizations build cultures where people return home safely while businesses thrive. Today, I serve as Vice President of Risk and HSEQ for one of the nation's leading water and wastewater infrastructure companies.

But if you asked me what matters most, my career wouldn't be my first answer.

People would.

I believe leadership doesn't end at the office door. Some of my greatest joys have come through building nonprofit organizations, creating charitable events, mentoring others, and bringing people together around causes that strengthen our communities. My passion is helping youth discover their potential, supporting first responders who answer the call every day, advocating for animal welfare, and partnering with local organizations that quietly make our communities better places to live.

That's why I founded the Central Texas BBQ Roundup and co-founded the Texas BBQ Bash. To me, barbecue has never been just about food. It's about bringing people together, building friendships, creating opportunities to serve, and reminding ourselves that the strongest communities are built around relationships.

In 2022, Tracie and I made one of the easiest and most rewarding decisions of our lives. We moved to Temple, Texas, to be closer to our children and granddaughters. We often describe this season of our lives with a simple phrase:

"We're watering the roots."

Family is the center of our world. Married since 1993, Sweetie and I have built our life around faith, service, generosity, and gratitude. She is my best friend, my greatest encourager, and the finest person I've ever known. I truly believe Heavenly Father placed her in my life to help me become a better husband, father, grandfather, and man.

Looking back, I'm grateful for every chapter of my journey, even the difficult ones. They taught me compassion, resilience, humility, and the importance of extending grace to others. They also remind me that every person deserves hope, encouragement, and sometimes a second chance.

This website isn't about my accomplishments.

It's about the people I've met, the lessons I've learned, the projects I'm building, and the belief that together we can leave every person, every organization, and every community a little better than we found them.
